Alter Elbtunnel (Old Elbe Tunnel-south)Südeingang

This tunnel is always an amazing place to visit. It is so much fun to see all the cyclists take this shortcut to Hamburg. It is built in such a grand style that is impressive.

We decided to take the car elevator down and the passenger elevator up. Cars are no longer allowed to go through.

There is a beautiful overlook behind the building of the Harbor or Landungsbrücken

The tunnel was built in 1911 by 4400 workers. The 426 m (1,398 ft) long tunnel was a technical sensation; 24 m (80 ft) beneath the surface, two 6 m (20 ft) diameter tubes connect central Hamburg with the docks and shipyards on the south side of the river Elbe
